Girl Power19 Unlimited by Jillian Michaels - Powerful Apr 6, 2011 1:00 PM "To live the life of your dreams, you have to know what those dreams are." - Jillian Michaels I recently received an early copy of Jillian Michaels book  Unlimited from a dear male friend of mine.  He read some of the early reviews on Amazon and thought that this book would be perfect for me.  Don't you just hate when people know exactly what you need when you have no clue.  The last few years, I have been unhappy.  I have been trying to find the confidence within to admit that I was not happy with my work, my personal life and myself.  From the outside I look like I have it all together when in fact I have nestled myself in the comfort of being uncomfortable. When I first opened Jillian's book, I went directly to the table of contents.  I needed to know the subject matter before I invested my time.  I had no use for useless self-help jargon.  The second item I read was so bold that I put her book down and cried. It simply stated, "What the Hell Do You Want to Do With Your Life?"  What, did I want to do?  I had no clue....well not one that I could verbalize.  After a few hours and some chocolate I went back to Chapter One- Identify Your Passion, which is under the heading of Imagine and found myself thinking back about my relationships with people and with myself.  I discovered the moment when I started hiding my true gifts and talents to make others comfortable around me.  I found what Jillian calls the big lie- that if we are not happy then "that's just the way things are." Life is to be lived and there are no rules to achievement. "The truth is, there are no rules. Period.  Anything is possible if you have the knowledge and do the work." You mean that, it's okay to follow my passions?  It is okay to be selfish in pursuit of my dreams....all of this is the first few pages of the book. Boy, did my friend know what I needed to hear (read). Although the first heading is called Imagine, I would rename it Dismantle!  As I turned the pages of this book, I found bits of my philosophy of living being dismantled.  I found freedom in the words.  It had been so long since someone told me that it was okay to take all my knowledge and gifts and demand  the very best from the universe. I have not completed  Unlimited , but I am well on my way.  There are so many points that have made me stop in my tracks and reflect that, I find myself revisiting the material I just read with a notepad of personal reflection notes.  I strongly recommend  Unlimited by Jillian Michaels if you are looking for some inner peace, and even if you are afraid of the journey....take it, your life will be forever changed.
Project Supermom Living the Dream Sep 20, 2010 2:04 PM http://projectsupermom.blogspot.com/2010/09/living-dream.html These days, it seems that saving our money just isn't as fun as it used to be...you know, like it was back in your grandparents' day, when that was all they seemed to do, right?!! Of course, they didn't have all the cool stuff we can get nowadays, and there was no internet to give them access to stuff any faster than hitching up the wagon and heading into town, and shopping malls weren't available, yet, to showcase all the possible stuff we could buy, and credit cards weren't as available to instantly make our dreams for having that stuff come true. They lived with what they needed, enjoyed what they had and eachother, and tucked away what they could. Yep, saving was what you did, when there wasn't something funner to spend your money on. So, bombarded with ads for all the stuff we need to have to live now and not wanting to lose face in front of our neighbors, friends, and co-workers, we spend and spend and spend, until we have, have, have! Of course, we don't think about, rather don't want to think about, what this will cost us later. There is a reason why people aren't able to retire and enjoy their golden years anymore...they can't afford it...they didn't prepare for it. Don't let this happen to you and your family. There is no time like the present to start thinking of your future and what you want it to look like. Mine is decorated with a retirement home in the mountains, exotic get-aways, cruises, first-class accommodations, spoiling my grandkids, and, well, driving my well-toned, slightly-modified foxy self around in a red convertible sports car! Getting there won't happen by blowing my paycheck at the mall or ringing up my credit cards or overextending myself on "stuff" that really is beyond my reach. It all starts with saving those little pennies...as many as you can...NOW! Squirreling away those pennies may not be as sexy as your neighbor's brand new BMW or your best friend's designer shoe collection, but your efforts will pay off big, when it really counts. Dare to dream that dream...dare to make that dream a reality!
Project Supermom Habitual Offenders Sep 13, 2010 12:38 PM http://projectsupermom.blogspot.com/2010/09/habitual-offenders.html "Bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into, but hard to get out of...bad habits start because you let them...good habits start because you make them." --Shonee Pass Like my after-dinner snacking that I've FINALLY put an end to! What are some habits that you could live without?
Blondi3 How do you save while traveling? Jul 12, 2010 4:19 AM I realized last night I have a lot of trips coming up (mostly weddings). How do you guys save while on vacation? I'm doing some work with Lexus Magazine and they have some roadtrips planned that I think would help cut down some costs. I have a wedding in San Antonio so we're going to fly into Houston and road trip to San Antonio.  Any other suggestions?
