This is the offical website for people dealing with fibro. i actually just got off the phone with someone, I couldn't beleive they were still open! Anyway, here is the run down:
They do accept insurance but you have to fill out the paperwork and submit it to your insurance company. They do bill your insurance for blood work if your insurance accepts Quest Diagnostics or Lab Core.
If you decide to make an appointment, they will send you a 26 page questionnaire that you have to fill out completely, this is for the doctor to look at your background and to understand what you are going through better. The first appointment is $100 and you will be donating blood for them to do blood tests. They do NOT do standardized blood tests like most doctors do, they will be checking for a lot more things. While you are waiting for you results (4-6 weeks) they will make sure you will have something to try to help you or treat your pain in the meantime. The second appointment is more expensive ($500) but the doctor will go over with you on what he/she thinks you need to do to feel better. You will be spending 1 hour with the doctor for both visits. After your second visit you will be going back every 4-6 weeks ($300) to see how you are doing. According to the woman that I talked to, 85% of their patients are feeling better then ever in 4 months. I don't know about you, but I will take that 85% chance because I need to live my life. Also, I know this is expensive, but if I don't do something now, I won't be able to work and support my family. Please, if you need incouragment or a virtual hug, or maybe if we get to know each other, exchange personal emails to phone numbers to addresses, we can be each others support group.
With care always,
Monique
